Rolls, Daranyi confirmed for Liveco debut in Toronto
When Liveco announced their upcoming debut show in Toronto, there were plenty of questions about who would be on the card. With the promotion’s Jan. 28 announcement, we’ve got a clearer picture.
On their social media accounts, the promotion confirmed that Steve Rolls (17-0), Kristian Prenga (6-1), Agron Smakici (11-0) and Zsolt Daranyi Jr. (13-0) will all compete on the card.
Rolls, 33, has been on a roll as of late. After an upset victory over American prospect Demond Nicholson on Showtime, Rolls returned to the ring in October of 2017 with a knockout of Andrik Saralegui. Now he’ll headline in his hometown of Toronto for the first time.
Prenga is an Albanian heavyweight who resides in Germany, but has competed in Canada throughout 2017. In both his bouts on Canadian soil, the Albanian finished his opponents. According to BoxRec, he is the 252nd ranked heavyweight fighter in the world.
A Croation fighter out of Germany, Smakici brings a 91 percent knockout rate with him into the ring. The former MMA fighter has called out Russian heavyweight Alexander Dimitrenko for a future bout.
Daranyi Jr., born in Hungary but resides in Ontario, has looked impressive throughout his 13 bouts, all of which have taken place in the United States. His bout on March 24, pending a victory in his Feb. 23 bout, will be his first in Canada.
The card is expected to take place at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. More details, including opponents for these fights are expected in the coming weeks.
