Membreno set for debut, Higson joins Feb. 10 Lee Baxter card

The Lee Baxter card scheduled for February 10 at the 17 Steakhouse and Bar is starting to take shape.

After FightOn announced the inclusion of Logan McGuiness, Alex Dilmaghani and Morgan Hughes for the event, Lee Baxter Promotions has confirmed that Kevin Higson will compete on the card, as well as the debuting Roland Membreno.

Higson is 13-1 as a professional boxer, including a 10-round decision victory over Phil Rose for the WBA-NABA Canada Super Welterweight title in his most recent outing. His lone loss, a unanimous decision defeat to Mexican fighter Martin Islas, was avenged in June of 2017.

BoxRec currently has Higson ranked sixth amongst Canadian super welterweight fighters. FightOn has him in-consideration (FightOn only ranks five fighters in each division. To see our rankings, click here)

Little is known about Roland Membreno. The 1991-born fighter has 21 amateur bouts according to Boxing Ontario and trains out of Brampton’s King of the Ring gym. He fights in the 81 kg. (178 lb.) division.

You can see an interview Membreno and head coach Ajaz Khan from Dameon Okposio here.
