Dilmaghani to challenge for IBF International title
Alex Dilmaghani (17-1) is about to enter the ring for the biggest fight of his career.
A member of Lee Baxter Boxing’s stable, Dilmaghani has been scheduled for a home-country bout against Nicaraguan fighter Ramiro Blanco (17-2-3). On the line will be the IBF International Super Featherweight title. The bout will be the co-main event of a card in Sheffield on April 27.
Dilmaghani is still expected to compete in a mid-summer showdown against Halifax fighter Tyson Cave, after the two came face-to-face following a Lee Baxter Promotions event in February. Dilmaghani headlined that show on Feb. 10, dominating Andy Almendras.
Blanco, 22, has become known for his knockout power after finishing his opponent in his last three victories. His last bout took place on February 16, knocking out Moises Olivas.
The card will be headlined by a Commonwealth Middleweight title bout between Liam Cameron and Danny Butler.
