Heron added to Stevenson/Jack undercard, other details released
Just days after taking a unanimous decision over Jeff Tabrizi in Toronto, it’s official that Kane Heron (11-0) will be a part of the Adonis Stevenson vs. Badou Jack undercard, scheduled for May 19 at the Air Canada Centre.
Lee Baxter confirmed the information in an interview with FightON.
“If anyone was at the fight on Friday (April 20), they know he could do the same thing he did for eight rounds for another 10,” Baxter said. “He’s in exceptional shape, he’s a high-level athlete. I know it seems like a quick turnaround but he barely got touched in the ring. He took a few days off and he’s back into camp.”
No opponent has been announced as of yet. While details are scarce, it is expected that Heron won’t be the only Lee Baxter Promotions fighter on the card.
“Because we’re bridging this show from Quebec, there will still be a wealth of Quebec fighters on the undercard,” Baxter said. “One of the deals put into place was that if I was the lead promoter, than I would have some guys on here as well.”
BoxRec currently lists Quebec-based fighters Michael Zewski, Oscar Rivas, Christian Mbilli, Sebastien Bouchard and Mathieu Bauderlique as also being on the event’s undercard.
As well, it is expected that Premier Boxing Champions will announce the co-main event later this week, prior to tickets going on sale Friday, April 27.
